Emergency Medicine Nurse

Basic Qualifications:

  • Current state of Texas license as a Registered Nurse with no sanctions or restrictions.
  • 2 years of experience as an emergency medicine nurse or comparable experience.
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS must be current.
  • Experience in working with EMR systems & ability to learn new software programs as needed.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal, with preferred Spanish or second language.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Must follow the regulations of the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Use knowledge and skills of emergency medicine to thoroughly evaluate patients and identify and anticipate nursing patient care needs.
  • Ensure that appropriate nursing care is provided to all patients in a compassionate, thorough and competent manner.

Patient Access Representative

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 or more years of registration experience in emergency department, hospital, or physician office.
  • 2 or more years of insurance verification.
  • Must have knowledge experience in PPO, POS, HMO and other 3rd party payors.
  • Knowledge of Transfer Memorandum
  • Familiarity with basic medical terminology
  • Pleasant demeanor and exceptional customer service skills
  • Knowledge and experience with full Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal, with preferred Spanish or 2nd language

Emergency Medical Technician

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) performs various patient care activities in the pre-hospital setting, in accordance with all rules and regulations set forth by the state Emergency Medical Services Commission. This is a night time off hours position.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Education High school diploma or equivalent. EMT Certification required.
  • Minimum Work Experience Minimum 12 months Emergency Medical Technician experience.
  • Required Skills Must possess the ability to communicate with and effectively treat patients of all ages.
  • Ability to administer first aid/emergency care.
  • Ability to speak effectively and convey information to supervisors, peers, and customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to use judgment and perform critical thinking.
  • Basic typing and personal computer skills.
  • Positive, enthusiastic, customer service-oriented personality.

Functional Demands

  • Must pass a physical examination and physical agility test. Physical demands include lifting, climbing, pushing, reading, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs, and exert 20-50 pounds of pressure.
  • OSHA Category I tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue.
  • Physically capable of performing BLS EMT services with reasonable accommodation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of clinical procedures, medical knowledge, techniques, and information needed to treat injuries.

Facility Resource Specialist

The Facility Resource Specialist (FRS) will courteously and professionally greet patients and obtain accurate demographic and insurance information for registration. This position will work in harmony with clinical staff to ensure each patient is given the highest level of customer service and every staff member is treated with the utmost respect. The FRS will carry-out his/her duties by adhering to the highest standard of ethical and moral conduct. The FRS will fully support the mission, vision, and values of Frontline ER. FRS will use applications such as Internet, Word, Excel and Centricity. FRS in a professional practice he/she is responsible for participating in and maintaining quality, cost effectiveness and guest relations. This is a night time off hours position.

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; some college is preferred.
  • Experience working with at least 2 years of in a patient care or a face to face customer service environment is required.
  • Experience working in an Emergency Department is preferred.
  • Experience working with patient records and charts is preferred.
  • Experience providing customer service to patients and their families is preferred.
  • Understanding of insurance plans is preferred.
  • Validation of clinical skills as outlined in the orientation checklist and maintain for annual clinical competency.
  • Performs all tasks as described on the current Front Office Daily Checklist.
  • All Staff are responsible for ensuring the facility is cleaned and well maintained.
  • Ability to flex schedule to meet the department needs to include longer scheduled shifts and may include night, weekend and holiday coverage.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Greets all patients and visitors.
  • Answers by phone or in person, patient inquiries regarding Frontline ER and services provided.
  • Obtains complete and accurate demographic, insurance and financial data to complete registration.
  • Verifies and documents patient insurance eligibility information, co-payment amounts, and collects fees.
  • Reviews and processes patient registration forms and medical records ensuring they contain all necessary documents.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (written and oral) with individuals and groups of various backgrounds and educational levels in a high stress environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple, changing priorities in an effective and organized manner, under stressful demands while maintaining exceptional customer service.
